Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Introduction

CourtMix ("we", "us", or "our") operates the CourtMix website at courtmix.net, including our court and business directory, business dashboard, and subscriptions (together, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you use the Services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including:

  • Account information (name, email address, and — if you sign in with Google — the basic profile details Google shares with us)
  • Business information for business accounts (business name, contact details, staff accounts, and records from claim verification)
  • Content you submit, such as place suggestions, listing details, and business logos or cover images
  • Place update reports (what you say changed at a place, any description you write, and an optional email address) — described under Place Update Reports below
  • Lead inquiries you send to a business (name, email address, phone number, and message)
  • Location, only if you choose to share it — the "near me" search asks your browser for permission and uses your coordinates to find nearby courts; we do not store your location or use it to build a profile

We also collect privacy-respecting, first-party analytics about how the website is used, described under Website Analytics below.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services
  • Operate business accounts, including claims, listings, subscriptions, and billing
  • Store lead inquiries in the selected listing's inquiry dashboard and share submitted contact details when the recipient's current access permits
  • Review and publish suggestions and listing content you submit
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Website Analytics

On the CourtMix website we collect first-party, aggregate usage events to understand which places and features are useful. This covers page views and clicks on actions such as getting directions, visiting a website, calling a venue, or opening a place from the map.

This website analytics is privacy-preserving by design. We do not set analytics or advertising cookies, we do not store your IP address, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not track you across other websites. We do not sell this data and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT) by suppressing passive website analytics events. If you explicitly submit feedback, such as selecting “I'm interested” on the pricing page, we store the anonymous feedback signal you requested even when either browser signal is present.

Expansion Interest

If you explicitly submit expansion interest for a state, CourtMix increments one aggregate state-level counter and records the calendar day of the latest signal. We do not collect a city, contact details, a per-submission record, or an IP-derived identifier with that signal.

Your browser privately keeps a bounded list of submitted state codes so it can avoid ordinary repeat submissions. That list stays on your device, is not sent as a cookie, and can be removed by clearing CourtMix site data in your browser.

Place Update Reports

If you use "Report an update" on a place page, we store what you selected, any description you wrote, the place you were reporting on, and the time. No account is required, and we do not store your IP address or an IP-derived identifier with the report.

The email address on that form is optional. We use it only to ask a follow-up question about that report; it is not added to the newsletter or any other list, and leaving it blank does not change how the report is handled.

Reports are private and are used only to check and improve place data. They are not published on the site, are not shared with the place, and give you no ownership of or control over a listing.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

When you submit an inquiry, your name and message are stored in the selected listing's inquiry dashboard. Your email address and phone number are made available only when the recipient's current access permits. A recipient that receives your contact information may use it only to respond to your inquiry.

We also share data with service providers that help us run the Services:

  • Firebase (Google) for authentication and database services
  • Stripe for payment and billing for business subscriptions — CourtMix does not store your card details
  • Cloudflare Analytics Engine for aggregate, de-identified website analytics (no personal data, no cookies)
  • Cloudflare Turnstile for anti-abuse verification on public forms
  • Cloudflare Images for hosting business-uploaded logos and cover images
  • Resend for sending email, including newsletter confirmations and the monthly court-updates digest — if you subscribe, your email address is stored with Resend so we can send it; unsubscribe anytime from any email

We may also disclose information to law enforcement when required by law.

Data Security

We use Firebase security rules and industry-standard encryption to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.

Your Privacy Choices (Colorado and California)

Colorado residents (under the Colorado Privacy Act) and California residents (under the CCPA and CPRA) have rights to access and delete personal information. Because we do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising, there is no sale to opt out of. We also honor the Global Privacy Control universal opt-out signal automatically for passive website analytics.

You can request deletion of your account and an export of your data by emailing support@courtmix.net.
